The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin (formerly the Rock County Humane Society) is a private nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to provide shelter and humane care to lost and homeless pets, reunite lost pets with their families, promote positive pet adoptions and educate our community in order to inspire compassion and responsible pet guardianship.
From socializing cats to walking dogs to helping at events, there’s a little something for everyone!
Helping pets go home again. That’s our mission every day. In 2022 alone we helped over 1,800 pet find safe and loving homes.

Our Services
Spay/Neuter
The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin is happy to offer low-cost spay and neuter services to the community.
Microchipping
In the words of Cesar Millan, you won’t ever regret microchipping your pet. But if your dog or cat gets lost, you will regret not doing it.
Pet Surrender
The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin is not only committed to helping pets go home, but also to helping pets stay home.
