Board of Directors announces new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin located at 222 S. Arch Street in Janesville, WI is pleased to announce the selection of a new Executive Director to lead the organization.

President of the Board of Directors, Brad Yarmark, announced Wednesday that Mike McManus has been selected as its new Executive Director.   Yarmark said “After an extensive search, the Board has selected an individual with diverse experience across several fields who we feel is the ideal professional to continue and build upon the successes that the Humane Society has enjoyed in recent years.”

In his most recent position, Mike has served as VP, Client Relations and Senior Executive Director for Association Executives Group.  Prior to that he held the position of President of Technical Enterprises, Inc. Both of these organizations specialize in providing Executive Director leadership for various professional trade groups.  These services include budget management, P&L analysis responsibility and event planning/management.

Mike’s management experience also includes a successful track record as Director with Tiffany & Co. as well as the General Manager of the world’s largest Minuteman Press organization.  In previous professional roles, Mike was also involved in significant fundraising activities, grant applications and capital campaign activity.

Additionally, Mike has served on the board of several non-profits including the Exchange Club of Naperville, IL, Naperville Cares and over 4 years as Vice president and board member of the Naperville Area Humane Society.

Mike attended Seton Hall University where he majored in Marketing and was a member of the varsity golf and basketball teams.   Mike is excited to bring his experience and skill set to work for the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin as it enters this important time in its growth and development.

Mike’s first official day with the Humane Society will be October 15th.
