Better Together Program FAQ

We understand that many members of our community are facing financial hardship right now and that many may also find it difficult to continue caring for their pets while facing this hardship. We seek to help everyone that we can through our Better Together Program, but at times we may not be able to help in the ways needed. If we are unable to help in your specific situation, we may be able to provide other resources or programs that can help.

Please read through our frequently asked questions below and then fill out the Request Form if you feel this program would help you stay united with your pet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can financial help can I expect from this program?

Our Better Together Program can help with up to $200 of pet-related costs. This could be veterinary care, a pet deposit for a rental home, etc.

Is there anything this program cannot help with?

Yes, this program cannot cover the costs of end-of-life care such as euthanasia services or cremation services. It also cannot cover the costs of wellness/annual visits, vaccine services, or spay/neuter services outside of HSSW.

If you are looking to schedule a low-cost wellness/annual visit, please visit us HERE. If the low-cost wellness/vaccine services are still outside your budget, please contact our Clinic Assistant, Hailey, at hbartlett@petsgohome.org. If you are looking to schedule a low-cost spay/neuter appointment, visit us HERE. If the low-cost spay/neuter services are still outside your budget, please contact our Surgery Team at surgery@petsgohome.org.

Are there any restrictions to requesting help?

There are no hard and fast restrictions, but because we only have so much funding to support the community through this program, preference will be given to Rock County residents facing financial hardship.

How will I know that my request has been approved?

You will receive an email or phone call follow up after we receive your request. This will typically happen within 1-2 business days.

What happens after my request has been approved?

We will then work the the vet clinic or other facility/organization that you are requesting help to pay to make our payment to them directly.

What if I need more help than this program can provide?

If you need more financial help for your pet, we recommend that you look into RedRover and/or Friends of Noah as they both have similar programs that may be able to help. RedRover also has a large list of additional resources that may help as well.

You may also be able to find lower cost vet care at the Wisconsin Community Veterinary CenterWisCares, or the Freeport Animal Hospital.
