April Showers Bring… Adoptions!
Starting April 1st | Regular Daily Adoption Hours | HSSW
Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation‘s Kia Pet Adoption Grant, dog adoption fees will be lowered by $100 for the first 10 dogs adopted AND cat/kitten adoption fees will be lowered by $50 for the first 20 cats/kittens adopted!!
*Does not include pets at off-site adoption locations or pets in our Adoption Guaranteed Program.

Cutest Pet Contest
April 1 – 30 | Online
Join us for our 8th annual Cutest Pet Contest with a new take this year! Enter a photo of your pet for only $10, cast votes for only $1 each, and then watch the votes roll in! The pet with the most votes at the end of the contest will a full photoshoot with a local photographer!! 2nd & 3rd place will also win mini photoshoots, so be sure to get in on the fun!

Join us out at the Janesville Mounds to learn more about HSSW and meet some of our adoptable animals! Volunteers will be on-site to answer all your questions.

Sustainable Living Fair
April 26th | 10AM-1PM | Hedberg Library
Learn about sustainable and healthy living with hands-on learning and activities for kids and giveaways. Be sure to stop by the HSSW table to say hello and learn more about how pets can be part of healthy living!

Doggy Derby 5k
May 3rd | 10AM-1PM | Timber Hill Winery
Join us for our Timber Hill Winery’s Second Annual Bine to Vine 5K, Derby Style! Dress up in your best Derby style with your furry friend and race for a great cause! This fun 5k run/walk (or 1-mile walk option) takes you from Good Works to Timber Hill Winery, benefiting the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin.

Yappy Hour
May 4th | 1PM-4PM | Willowdale Tavern
Join us for an afternoon of PAWsome BINGO at the Willowdale Tavern on Sunday, May 4th, starting at 1 pm! This is not your average Bingo … join us for the fun, win some amazing prizes, enjoy food & drink specials and visit with HSSW staff & a furry friend. HSSW will also have a 50-50 Raffle & Pull-Tab Raffle – You won’t want to miss it!

Join us out at the Hedberg Public Library to learn more about HSSW and meet some of our adoptable animals! Volunteers will be on-site to answer all your questions.

Cats N’ Mats
May 17th | 9:30AM-11:30AM | HSSW
Join HSSW for a morning yoga practice lead by Lifestyle Focus Fitness and featuring adoptable cats! Ages 10+ are welcome to join. It is preferred that you bring your own yoga mat with you, but we will have a few to borrow if needed. This event runs from 9:30am-10:30am at HSSW. There are only 12 spots available, so don’t wait to sign up! You can sign up HERE. Plus, the cost is only $23 with $10 coming back to HSSW as a donation!

Kitten Shower
May 18th | 11AM-2PM | Timber Hill Winery
Join us at Timber Hill Winery 11am-2pm for a purr-fect afternoon filled with adorable kittens & wine! There is no admission – guests are encouraged to bring monetary or in-kind donations to support the kittens. You can expect to meet adoptable kittens, enjoy wine & kitten snuggles, and learn about fostering & volunteering! Whether you’re looking for a new furry friend or just want to sip wine while cuddling kittens, this event is for you!
