Pop In & Adopt Out Adoption Event

July 23rd – 24th | 12pm-7pm | HSSW

WE ARE FULL!!! We’re overflowing with amazing dogs, cats, and kittens who are ready to find their forever families. If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry friend to your home, there’s never been a better time!
 
Adoption Special Pricing: Dogs – $50, Cats – $5, & Kittens – $25 Exclusions: Special adoption prices do not apply to off-site adoption centers. Adoption Guaranteed dogs, puppies & kittens are not included in this event.
 
Additional Fees: City of Janesville licensing or leash & collar (if not provided). During this event, adopters are still required to complete a standard adoption application as if it were a normal day. This event will run during our regular adoption hours (12pm-7pm).

Mutt Day Adoption Event

July 31st – August 2nd | Regular Adoption Hours | HSSW

July 31st is National Mutt Day – what better way to spend it than welcoming a brand new mutt into your family?! To sweeten the deal, we’re lowering adoption fees for our mixed breed dogs to just $31 ALL WEEKEND LONG!!!

Donut Dash

August 1st | 8am | Skelly’s Farm Market

Join us for our 4th Annual Donut Dash at the beautiful Skelly’s Farm Market featuring a delicious 5k and 1-mile run/walk! On Saturday, August 1st starting at 8am, participants of all ages will have the opportunity to race/mosey through Skelly’s 6-acre sunflower field, scenic nearby roads, and strawberry beds, with an apple cider donut waiting at the finish line. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome!
 
Sign Up Here: REGISTRATION. Registration is just $50 in July. Online registration will end on Thursday, July 30th. Not sure if you can commit just yet? No worries – day-of Registration will be just $60.
 
Signup includes a race bib with time tracking (thanks to Velocity Multi-Sports & Cycling), admission to the sunflower field, and an apple cider donut at the finish line. Race T-shirts will be available again this year for purchase ($20) with 100% of proceeds benefiting pets going home. A significant portion of ticket sales will also benefit HSSW, as well as $1 from every non-race participant sunflower field admission that day!

August 7th | 6pm-7pm | Timber Hill Winery

Get ready for a paw-some night of sips, smiles, and bingo! Join us for Wineo Bingo at Timber Hill Winery from 6pm-7pm. Grab your lucky charm and a glass of your favorite Timber Hill wine and settle in for a few exciting rounds of bingo. There will be fabulous prizes, lots of laughs, and best of all—ALL donations to play go directly to HSSW to help our furry friends find their forever homes. Whether you’re a bingo boss or just here for the wine vibes, this night is sure to be filled with fun, friendship, and feel-good moments. Let’s raise our glasses—and some tails—for a great cause!

Hedberg Library Outreach Event

August 12th | 9:30am-11:30am | Hedberg Library

Join us out at the Hedberg Library to learn more about HSSW and meet some of our adoptable animals! Volunteers will be on-site to answer all your questions.

Cats N’ Mats

August 15th | 9:30am-10:30am | HSSW 

Join HSSW for a morning yoga practice lead by Lifestyle Focus Fitness and featuring adoptable cats! Ages 10+ are welcome to join. It is preferred that you bring your own yoga mat with you, but we will have a few to borrow if needed. This event runs from 9:30am-10:30am at HSSW. There are only 12 spots available, so don’t wait to sign up! You can sign up HERE. Plus, the cost is only $23 with $10 coming back to HSSW as a donation!

Dog Days of Summer

August 16th | 10AM-2PM | Rotary Gardens

Join us out at Rotary Gardens for the 2nd annual Dog Days of Summer event! We’ll be out there with a few adoptable dogs ready to meet you. Plus, there will be a ton of dog activities, food trucks, live music, vendors to shop at, swag bags, & more. All for just $10 per person!
