Health Services Technician

Are you looking to work in the veterinary field, directly improve the lives of thousands of homeless animals, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment? The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin is seeking both full-time and part-time applicants for the veterinary and surgery teams. The team members will assist the veterinarian and veterinary technicians in surgery, medical exams, lab testing, and patient care. Applicants would also be responsible for medically triaging new strays, administering vaccinations and preventatives, and reuniting lost pets with owners. Click here for a full job description. The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, a progressive and growing shelter, is seeking a full-time shelter veterinarian. We are a private non-profit shelter with municipal contracts and an annual intake of ~3000 animals with less than 10% euthanasia.
On staff are two full-time CVTs with 5+ years of experience in shelter medicine along with both full-time and part-time veterinary assistants. The veterinarian will split time both in the shelter clinic attending to the shelter and foster animals and in the spay/neuter clinic. They will also provide guidance to the other departments on proper disease prevention and animal care.
All the medical and surgical treatments of the shelter animals are at the full discretion of the shelter veterinarians within the department budget/means. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a desire to teach, and a passion to use veterinary medicine to save more lives. New graduates and experienced veterinarians encouraged to apply.
