Live Trap Rental

Although unable to assist in the actual trapping of stray cats, HSSW has live traps available for rent with a $20 deposit.

For more information on live trap rental, please call the shelter at 608-752-5622 or email our Adoptions Supervisor, Alison, at astrieker@petsgohome.org.

What can I use this live trap for?

HSSW live traps are intended for the use of trapping feral/stray cats and should not be used to capture a cat whose left ear is ear-tipped, unless the cat seems sick and/or needs medical attention. HSSW live traps are not intended to harm animals, including the trapping of wildlife.

How long can I keep the live trap?

Live traps are rented out on a two-week basis. If there is a need to keep the trap longer, please call the shelter to get an extension approved.

Do I get my deposit back?

$15 of the $20 deposit will be refunded upon return of live trap in good working condition.

What if the live trap is broken or stolen while in my possession?

If the renter fails to return the live trap by the return date (or approved extension date), or if the trap becomes lost, broken, or stolen, the deposit will be forfeited and the renter will be billed for the full cost of the trap.
